Thyme in general is an aromatic evergreen bush, which grows spontaneously in the Mediterranean area on rocky, dry and hot areas, but can also be grown in pots to be used in the kitchen as an aromatic herb. Among its many properties, the antiseptic and expectorant ones stand out.
It is generally one of the herbs used to marinate both meat and fish. Its aroma goes well with capers, olives, anchovies and eggs.
In the Italian culinary tradition, thyme is often used for barbecue cooking to flavor dishes.
